Location choices
We will be filming our trailer in the form of "The Soul Taker" in a variety of different locations in order to create the most horror-filled experience for the paranormal genre as well as strive for locales not usually seen in paranormal films.
Churchdown School Academy - This location is the school in which our main victim attends as well as a few of her friends and allies. We decided to base our trailer in a school setting to best conform to our target audience of 15 year olds and maybe invoke fear in them that this could happen to them as well. Using a school also allows us to film moments of isolation in the form of corridors and we can also gather a lot of extras to use as victims who have already fallen for the trap.

SCHOOL PLAYGROUND:
We decided to use the main school playground during a time where a lot of students were playing around because we wanted to create a contrast between the beginning and end of the trailer. Here, the victim is surrounded by happy faces and a bright atmosphere. The killer in the background could bring the connotation that not all things are as they seem. CORRIDOR: We also used the main school corridor as a key location due to how narrow and isolated it is: making it a perfect spot for the victim to be alone and gather with her thoughts, as seen in the trailer. It also allowed us to create a continuous 360 degree scene with the killer being seen behind her to further enhance this isolation and safety. SPACE OUTSIDE 6TH FORM AREA: We simply used this space for the scene where Dr. Branning informs Gabi to stop taking photos because of the glass door to the left side which allows us to create a scene where Dr. Branning sees Gabi with her phone through the door and therefore runs to her before opening the door and telling her to stop. |
