When it comes to filming for a horror trailer, many safety precautions need to be carried out so production can be carried out without any real injuries.
RISK - Camera falling off tripods
EFFECT - The glass lens of the camera may smash and render it unusable
HOW WE CAN AVOID - Ensure that the camera is placed securely on top of the tripod and always check when carrying the tripod around.
RISK - Mobile phones being dropped
EFFECT - The phone's screen can smash or injure someone if the phone was to drop or be thrown at them
HOW WE CAN AVOID - Hold the phones tightly. In the last scene of our trailer where our victim drops the phone, we had someone else below her out of shot ready to catch it.
RISK - Actors tripping over while running
EFFECT - Can injure the actors and possibly rule them out from further production
HOW WE CAN AVOID - Ensure the actors know where they're going while running and if they have shoelaces, make sure they are tied up.
RISK - Electric sockets being tampered with during lighting
EFFECT - Could start a fire and would have to contact the fire brigade if an event was to happen
HOW WE CAN AVOID - Make sure all actors on set know that the electric socket is being used and don't tamper with it
RISK - Breaking school equipment while filming around school
EFFECT - Renders equipment unusable, massive safety hazard if the equipment injures someone
HOW WE CAN AVOID - Be careful when filming around school and treat all equipment with care and respect.
