The feedback that we gathered back from our audience was very educating as we, got to see the product that we have created in the eyes of others who have just seen it for the first time. We learnt the positive aspects of our trailer aswell as the negaatives, this enabled us to understand what needs to be done in future projects. Our audience feedback futher enabled us to understand what they think, their likes and dislikes.
INTERVIEWS (Video feedback)
As a way of gathering feedback from our target audience, we decided to interview people who specifically fit the age gap. We first let each individual watch our trailer, then asked them a series of questions for example what did they like and not like about our trailer. we further emphasised the need for each person to be honest in their answer as this will give us clear and accurate information on what to do better next time. Through our interviews we gathered many positive remarks and found out that we had properly used camera techniques, the use of sound, editing techniques and the narrative (story line). However amongst these there were also some negatives, which showed us what needed to be improved. we needed to improve, the range of shots we used some were always similar, especially when we tried to create tension, by filming loads of CCTV cameras, we did not show the dramatics of them killing the victims. we also needed to enhance our skill at filming as people thought that some of the shots were "amateurish" and not of a high quality. our positives out weigh the negatives, even so to make our trailer even better, we will need to address these negatives.
EBI: to make our trailer better we will have a better introduction and more scenes that show the horror, use better angles and use better camera techniques (use a tripod). Carefully edit pay attention to all small details, especially when adding dialogue (voice over), don't forget to fade out at the end of each voice over, as this will help it have more flow and wont make it seem like it was just place on top. Also add more of a story at the start of the trailer, to give the audience a better understanding of the film, and will make it more thrilling as it will give us the chance to create a lot of tension, before people start dying.
If we were to address these issues next time we were handed a task such as this, I believe that our trailer will be comparable to that of real world films, and might even be considered as a horror idea for a new horror film.

Social Networks: Facebook
Since it is the 21st century we decided to use social networking to our advantage to gather feedback from our target audience. We put our trailer, poster and magazine covert and asked people who were part of our target audience to comment their views, both negative and positive.
Our target audience gave us some amazing feedback that helped us a lot. Similarly to our interviews, we got both positives and specific aspects that we could improve. For example a person named Jamie Beach gave us some in-depth improvements on our poster, and we quote " I would suggest a more fragmented font, to illustrate the soul taking part" but he did not stop there he then went onto say "Also, the slogan part underneath the title, to me, seems to be abrupt. It's hard to explain but the fact that it is split up means that when I am reading it, there seems to be less tension or impact on me. Again this may not happen for everyone, but it is for me. Maybe use different words, words that add tension or suspense. Maybe try this:Behind you. In the shadows. Watching. Waiting. For your soul. this was not only helpful in pointing out our flaws and letting us know what to do better next time, but it further emphasises the point that the viewers, our target audience are the ones who have the greatest opinion and give us the most accurate feedback. it also further reinstates the reason for audience research and getting their views and opinions. We learnt a lot from our audience feed back, from posting it on facebook as more people are on this social networking site than any other social media out there. So our feed back varied giving us clear point on what to change and what to keep that we have done well. We learned that even though or poster and magazine cover may be separate pieces from our trailer, we still need to make direct links to the trailer through specific detail. Like Jamie said we could have used a fragmented font for our title as it could be connotations to the supernatural, as it could show invisible bonds holding the pieces together similarly to that of the soul that it is invisible but attached to our body. Although improvements were needed some people thought that it was good and would pass as an ok film, so from this we decided that we need to bring every aspect of the trailer, the sound, the dialogue, effects the editing, the camera techniques to high standard which will then make the trailer overall to be excellent. For our magazine cover people gave some good advice mostly commenting on the use of colours, but this was also a flaw as they all seemed to say that the white on red strip at the bottom of the cover should not be, white and should not have any effects on it. looking through our magazine cover after getting this feed back realised that there wasn't a consistency in the colour triangle, going from white to red. If we take all these improvements and add them to our products they will then be more appealing to our target audience.
Conclusion
The feedback that we had gained mainly told us two things the positives and the negatives, some more than others. But due to this feedback we were able to learn things, that we would not have realised by our own evaluation and our own standards, hearing the opinion of others and those specifically who fit the criteria for our target audience, has given us a higher understanding on what to do better in improving our trailer, our poster and our magazine cover. Most of all the feedback has helped us justify our research, which will then enable us to accurately create a film that is enticing to our target audience. If this task is assigned to us again using our feedback we would be able to create a top tier, high quality piece that would be enticing to watch for our target audience. and we have learned for this two happen we need to do a number of tasks. They are to make sure that when we are adding dialogue (voice overs) we need them to be faded so it doesn't seem to be just placed on top of all the video, and gives a flow to the trailer. We need to add opening scene for the trailer so it shows what the story or plot is and doesn't go straight in to the main part where people start dying. We also need to play close attention to the camera angles and the shots that we use as some may not particularly fit well with the scene. For our poster and magazine cover it was mainly aesthetics, the font was not a good choice things didn't relate to the trailer, also colour management, colours didn't have a flow to it or did not particularly fit well together. These are just some of the things that need improvement that we have derived from our feedback. However there really wasn't a majority in the comments that leaned more to the positive side or the negative side. We are doing some aspects right that make our trailer good yet we are missing things out that could make our products excellent. overall we have deduced that there is a lot more learning to do, in the aspect of how to make good trailer, what small details need to be considered, to make an excellent product.
